Capacity Building Programme - My Perspective on LGBTQ+ community and their social position
Planning Phase LGBT is an initialism that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. It may refer to anyone who is non-heterosexual or non-cisgender,instead of exclusively to people who are lesbian,gay,bisexual or transgender.To recognize this inclusion, a popular variant LGBTQ adds the letter Q for those who identify as queer or are questioning their sexuality. The topic I have selected for the capacity building programme is "My perspective on LGBTQ community and their social position". In a 2001 study that examined possible root causes of mental disorders in lesbian, gay and bisexual people, Cochran and psychologist Vickie M. Mays explored whether ongoing discrimination fuels anxiety, depression and other stress-related mental health problems among LGBTQ people.
