Script Writing & Theatre Practice

The workshop on Art Education and Theatre practice which was conducted by BNVCTE was held on 30th March 2023 at Seminar hall.The session was handled by Mr Prijith Kumar V S resource person from St Jacob's Training College,Menamkulam.General Convenor of this event was Dr G Valsala,Principal of BNVCTE,Thiruvallam.This workshop started around 10 am with a welcome speech.

As per the knowledge we gained from the script writing and theatre practice workshop we began writing our script.Firstly,all the members sat in a huge circle so that everyone can be a part of the discussion and writing.Our's were the first group so we had a theme in our mind that we wished to develop into a story.The central theme of our drama was mental health issues faced in academic field.The story that we developed uder this theme was originally written by one of our teammates,Gokul Krishna.We then split the members into different roles.I was part of the dialogue writing team.The resource person,Prijith Sir enthusiastically mentored us and gave us significant corrections at each stage of development.With his and our team members whole hearted effort we could finish our script on time.

Our drama named "Thettu" was well executed on stage on 31st March,afternoon at seminar hall,BNVCTE. Our Principal and all the teachers of BNVCTE were the audience.

Prior to the performances,we were given half a day for practice.It was difficult to navigate the whole scene individually so we split into 3 groups who at the same time practiced the three important scenes in our drama.All the characters in the drama were locals and native people in the present era so we didn't have any difficulty in arranging costumes and other props.The performace of every actors outshined the minute errors that we made on and off stage.
