Reflection on Teaching Practice Week 3 (20/11-24/11)

“What the teacher is, is more important than what he teaches.” ― Karl Menninger

Monday(20/11/2023)-During the 3rd period I had class in 9th standard.I taught them the lesson Electromotive force.

Second Observation by Shiny ma'am

Today general teachers Lakshmi ma'am and Shiny ma'am visited for observations.Since the HSS section was not available during the afternoon hours they observed me,Gopika,Ahsana and Reshma.I taught the 8th standard students the lesson 'Growing crystals'. It was an ICT lesson and I had also made some CuSO4 crytals for them to see. Shiny ma'am gave me many positive remarks. Students were very active and responding very well even though it was the last period.

Tuesday(21/11/23)-I taught the pending lessons in 'Work, Power & Energy' in 9th standard during the 5th period. Ashraf Sir asked me to do some record works regarding rice distribution and utensils list etc that we completed quickly.

Wednesday(22/11/23)- I didn't have any class or substitution periods today so participated in other regular school activities only.

Friday(24/11/24)- I got a substitution period in 8th standard so I taught the lesson 'Homogeneous and Heterogeneous mixtures. It was a CAM model lesson but the students answered very well to the Yes or No examples.

It was a good week of training. After one more observation by general teachers my confidence in teaching and managing the students have strengthened. This week, the substitution periods were less as all the other teachers were present and they didn't have any free periods. Lunch serving has been my favorite duty since the internship started. It gives me immense happiness to serve the kids and watch them happily eat.
