Reflection of Teaching Practice(Week 2-13/11-17/11)
"Where can we find the courage to act in spite of fear? Trying to eliminate that which we react to fearfully is a fool’s errand because it locates the source of our fear outside ourselves, rather than within our own hearts"
Monday(13/11/2023)-Today I had class in 9th standard during the 3rd period. I started the chapter 'Current Electricity'
Tuesday(14/11/2023)
A Memorable Children's Day Celebration
Myself along with two other teacher trainees accompanied the students to Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium for Children's rally. The rally had started by 10:30 we walked the students to Kanakakunnu palace where the programme was being held. We helped Ashraf sir to get children's day kits and also distributed them to students. After the lunch we also took the children to Zoo. We had a fun filled experience with the students and bonded well with them which is very important as a teacher.
Wednesday(15/11/23)
First Observation by Suni ma'am
Even though I didn't have class today as per the timetable I arranged a period for my first observation. I took the lesson 'Potential Difference' in 9th standard. I was both excited and tensed as it was my first evaluation as a teacher in action. The class went well and Suni ma'am gave me an elaborate review of my teaching including both positives and negatives. She asked me to improve my questioning skills and to avoid mass answering.
Thursday(16/11/2023)-I had class during the 1st period in 8th standard where I taught the lesson 'Supersaturated Solutions'.
Friday(17/11/2023)- We were asked to attend the PTA meeting to learn about the process.
After the successful completion of 10 days of school internship I am slowly learning the ways of the school functioning. I struggle with classroom management and children are very restless and naughty at most of the time. Most of the days they get scolding from the HM for not attending the school regularly and other discipline issues. However these experience help me transform into a better teacher by the completion of this training.
